Industrial IoT for Manufacturing

The client offers a solution with a barcode scanner that helps companies streamline defect detection in the manufacturing process. Factory employees use scanners with iPhones installed into them to mark defects on items across many production lines. The preceding iOS solutions failed to deliver the required level of quality and comfort of use, impairing the efficiency of the client’s offering.

We created an iOS solution with an intuitive design and simple flow that integrates with inspection station software at the factory. First, the employee scans a code on their uniform to identify themselves in the factory’s system. Then, they use the scanner to mark defects or lack of thereof in the app, registering which item passes and which does not. All the data is synched with the inspection station the employee is assigned to. This allows for tracking employees’ working hours and number of detected defects across different time periods.

Our solution met the client’s high expectations, allowing their offering to finally reach the desired level of efficiency. The client has extend the cooperation with Intellectsoft to the development of a data visualization tool that will allow management better access the data coming from the barcode scanners.
