All-in-One 3D Tool that Helped a Solar Innovator Close Deals Faster

CHALLENGE

Naked Energy came to us with a clear challenge: make their quoting tool more straightforward to use across the company and speed up the proposal process, without losing accuracy. They wanted sales and engineering teams to work from the same system, without jumping between CAD files, spreadsheets, and simulation tools.

Though their old process was accurate, it was time-consuming. It wasn’t easy for new team members to pick up, and it made customers wait. They needed a solution that would maintain technical precision while removing unnecessary complexity, allowing proposals to be created more quickly and with less effort.

SOLUTION

We developed a cloud-based platform that brings all the essential elements into one place. From a single dashboard, users can open a 3D workspace, play with model system layouts on rooftops or land, and watch the setup update in real time.

Built-in tools calculate energy output, system size, and pricing. All data stays connected behind the scenes, so there’s no need to re-enter or transfer figures manually. What once took several hours across multiple systems now happens in one session, with visuals and a proposal ready to share.

APPROACH

The real shift came through design. We rethought the quoting experience from the ground up, starting with rapid prototypes in Figma and testing them with real users to understand what worked and what didn’t.

We focused on clarity and confidence. The interface brings forward only the tools people use most often. More advanced settings remain available, but only appear when needed. The process starts with proven templates, so there’s less guessing and fewer steps to get going.

IMPACT

In the end, the project created something completely new for the solar thermal industry. When it used to take days to design a complete solar thermal system, it now only takes a few hours. From initial design consideration, complete design layout to calculation and export into a client ready proposal, everything happens within a single tool and a single session.

The biggest shift however is enabling non-technical users to design a solar thermal system. We made it so anyone on the team could open the app, design a system, build a proposal, and feel confident about the result.
