People Get More and More Tech Addicted

According to the recent research conducted by Intel Corporation and commissioned by TNS to explore American attitudes towards travel and technology modern people cannot bare any trip without their tech devices. The survey featured 2,500 participants of all ages from 18 to 66. Approximately 44 percent of respondents confessed to feeling worried and uncomfortable when their laptops, gadgets and smartphones are not with them during a journey. Even luggage fees and extensive security measures cannot help against this tech mania.
About 87% of young people taking part in the survey answered positively to the question whether they would be happier on tech-connected journey.
Mike Fard from Intel commented on the matter: “The primary thing we saw was that there’s a very stark contrast between the way people used to travel and the way that they travel today. We found people have a few must-haves on their trip.”
Well, it’s not much of a surprise: times change, people change and their preferences simply cannot stay the same. Though the pace and scale of the technical revolution really strikes imagination. Just a few years ago we could think of a rest from civilization and its blessings including all tech things and now we cannot imagine a proper trip without a laptop, cell phone, etc.
Approximately 64% of the survey participants appear to be able to sacrifice their comfort and even personal appearance taking their devices to the trip instead of things like toiletries, hairdryers, clothes and shoes.
Although a trip without technologies at hand is a waste of time according to the respondents of Intel, gadgets also may upset them greatly. The thing is modern travelers feel anxious and upset when they cannot find a power source to plug their devices into. The case is called “outlet outrage”.
Another problem is a fear to loose mobile devices during a trip. Some people find it even worse than loosing a wedding ring. I bet the majority of respondents thinking so are men.
By the way, women are more exposed to tech envy: about 34% of women-respondents admit feeling depressed and experiencing device envy and only 22% of men feel the same.
Anyway, if not take this all way too seriously tech things can be very useful during a journey. Intellectsoft has a few very handy apps to offer for travelers.
